Saturday, my Grandma celebrated her 88th Birthday with her friends and family.
A group of her friends call themselves the Golden Girls. They are a lively bunch and kept the party going with songs and stories and dancing!
The party was beautifully decorated by Aunty Cathie and her party planning posse. The food was delicious and made by the chefs at the Equator Restaurant and Uncle William was there to oversee things as well. We had a great time and the Birthday Girl had a wonderful day.
Happy Birthday Grandma! We love you!

A Sweet Memory
So I was unpacking yesterday..... um, yes I have been back for a month now and I am still finding things to unpack and put away. Anyway, I came across the sweetest thing.
This was taken at Boondocks in Utah. Skyler was wondering around the arcade and found this photo booth. Then he found his Grandpa. Aren't these the cutest pictures? What a sweet memory.

Reverent Child
So I must admit that I don't have the most reverent children in church. Church has been eventful the past couple weeks. The boys have been so excited to have their cousin Tiare move home again and the past couple Sundays she has come to sit with us or asks the if the boys can sit with her. So great because they have been pretty reverent when Tiare is around.
Yesterday, I was totally removed from that because Riley was fussy. I took him to the car to feed him and he quickly fell asleep. I was reading my lesson for next week when I looked down to my little reverent child just laying there with his hands clasped. He looked so sweet I had to snap this picture.
So okay, he is sleeping and all sleeping children are reverent... but still...so cute.

First Day of School
The boys were up and going this morning with a buzz of excitement because today was the first day of school! Four boys were getting dressed. Four boys were eating breakfast. Four boys were gathering their school supplies for the first day. Count them.... Alec... Micah... Brady... and Skyler. Yep. Four boys going to school.
Each one was excited for school but I was particularly worried about Skyler. He started K-3 and was excited but being away from Mom for that long? Is it possible? The solution? Dad. For the first time ever, I didn't take the boys to school on the first day. I was sad I couldn't do that but it worked. I was told Skyler was a little nervous and scared but didn't cry at all! Yes!
When I picked them up Skyler came running to me saying, "School was so fun!" and "There are girls in my class!" Oh boy! Here we go! Micah had a great big hug for me and said he had a great day at school. Brady's comment was, "Oh Mom, I worked so long and hard today!" And Alec, he had an adventure going back and forth from classroom to classroom as he started Middle School. Each one of the boys had a wonderful first day of school. What a great start for the new school year.

Last Minute
Yesterday was the last day of summer for the boys. We spent the last day playing, swimming, last minute shopping, and... sewing? Yep, me and my last minute projects. I decided to sew water bottle covers for the boys. They are so hard on water bottles and go through so many. On our trip we bought some more and I thought it would be nice to have these in a cover that will not only protect them more but also keep the water cooler for a bit longer.
I had seen a tutorial for covers online before. I think it was my good friend Barb who shared this one from Pink Chalk Studio with me. Cute idea and a great tutorial. I am such a visual learner and I loved her step by step photos.
So, yesterday and last night I tried it. Step by step and this is what I ended up with. The boys are all set for school!

A Low Key Day
Last week I enjoyed a nice low key day and it was exactly what I needed. I love those days when kids are happy and projects get finished. I had so many well wishes from so many friends. I felt so loved. And check out this card. Love it!
Thank you to everyone who made it a wonderful day.

A Special Day
The last day of our trip was a special day. It was a day that Alec received the priesthood. What a wonderful day it was.
We went to church at my brother's ward in Pleasant Grove and were met by family. Alec was blessed to be surrounded by men who are wonderful examples to him: Grandpa, Grandpa Dan, Uncle Adam, Uncle Jared and his Dad.
It is amazing to think that our family is blessed by another priesthood holder. We gathered outside my brother's chapel to take a couple photo to remember the day.
And here are a few more fun pictures of our Special Day.
Thanks to everyone for being there. We love you.

Garden Veggies
So I have to start off by excusing my pictures. I was playing with the settings and my photographer didn't check it when he....JASON... took them.
Okay disclaimer done. So we started Riley on eating rice cereal and fruit. He does pretty well with it but talking with my Grandma she said I needed to give him veggies first. I always listen to Grandma. So I found some Garden Vegetable baby food and tried it.
Just look at that face after having a bite.
We tried it again and again with the face.
I wish we had it on video. He was so funny. He didn't cry but made that face with that "oh that's gross" wiggle. Of course the boys got a kick out of it. I guess I shouldn't have spoiled him with fresh mango and bananas.

A Month Long Part 4
Back in Utah for more family fun. We spent the rest of the trip with my parents, brothers and their families. We did so many fun activities like Boondocks on Alec's birthday.
Heidi, Kim and Emily arranged a BBQ with DELICIOUS food. I want those recipes. And if that wasn't enough, Heidi baked a birthday cake that was so yummy!
Salt Lake City was another stop. We went to temple square.
And we even spent some time at my parent's home where the kids immediately scoped out the best spot.

A Month Long Part 3
One of the last things we did with Jason's family was Lagoon. This amusement park was full of roller coasters and water slides. I spent the whole time taking the three younger ones on rides. It was great because they had so many rides for the younger kids that Brady didn't feel too bad he couldn't go with his older brothers. The two older boys went with Jason and their cousins on the big rides and this is why I have no pictures of them in Lagoon.
Off to Texas to visit Grandpa and Grandma Billie. We took little side trips while we were there and saw the Railroad Museum in Galveston, went ice skating at the Galleria Mall (first time ever for my boys!) and even went to the Space Center in Houston.
Billie fed us so well that I believe I put on weight in Texas! Yum! Of course the best part was being with family.

A Month Long Part 2
It had been 14 years since I was at the last big Corry Family Reunion. Now this reunion is a few days long spent camping in the mountains. Jason fully intended on camping with his boys. Me, I knew better and made plans to sleep in a cozy bed at night. My boys were in heaven running around in the dirt and the best was their cousin carving swords out of the fallen trees. They thought that was the coolest. Micah enjoyed playing volleyball and Brady was happy stringing Fruit Loops.
Everyone found a little something to do and had a great time. So the funny thing was that first night...when it got down to 59 degrees we were out of there.... every last one of us. Yep including Jason.
A few days later, and after a few goodbyes, we were off.
Off to hike in Zions National park. We all hiked up to the Emerald Pools and was that an adventure. Especially with a 3 year old and a 5 month old. It was a hike but a lot of fun and just look at these pictures!
Couldn't have been too bad since I hiked in my slippers and carrying Riley Owen all the way.
Well, most of the way. Thanks Micah.

A Month Long Part 1
So I better take this in parts. We just returned from a month long trip to Utah and Texas and we had a blast. I thought I would post some photos from our trip a little at a time. You know....baby steps. The first half of the trip was spent with Jason's family.
Here the boys are at the local pool. They really made a splash.
I love the picture of Skyler. Can't you just see the determination in his eyes. He was all set to go up the slide and the lifeguards were all set to blow their whistle on him. Good thing Dad was there to redirect him.
We really enjoyed our time with Sharon, Kim and family.

I can't believe it.
I'm really doing this. I am starting a blog! Can you believe it? Well, don't get too excited. Hopefully I will be really good and post often but time will tell. But for now this is a start. I just wanted to start off by saying that I have arrived!
