School Boys

Just got the boys school pictures for this school year 2011-2012. This year the school went with Brenda's Photo Shop. Check them out.
I asked Skyler where was his smile and he said, "Mom, I smiled like this..." and he showed me the same hidden smile as in the picture. I guess he was trying to pose with feeling. ;)

Pouring Rain

It's raining. It's pouring. Brady is exploring. Splish and splashing all around. He's getting soaked and dirty.
Come Skyler, It's pouring. So much fun just running. In and out of puddles too. We're wet but really smiling.
Come look here. Come see here. It's really coming down here. We've found a spot that we can stop, And really swim around here.

Brown

So the boys finished their first quarter in school and had a week off. They spent all week playing outside and watching way too much TV. One day Brady and Skyler came in from playing when I noticed their dirty feet. I asked them to go straight to the bathroom to wash their feet off. A little while later I see Skyler laying on a skateboard rolling on the wood floor.
I noticed his feet and said, "Skyler I told you to wash your feet!"
His reply was "I did Mom!"
To which I responded, "Skyler, I can see your feet and they are still brown."
Pause....
He looked at himself and said, "But Mom..... I am brown all over!"
Oh priceless! I just had to laugh. It's true... he is my brownest boy.

Cheers!

So my kids are always fighting over which cup is which. I have tried buying different color cups but there is still someone fighting over the same cup. So what to do? I had this idea floating around in my head for a while. Last night I finally got the last pieces so the boys and I got to work. They each made their own "Cheers Cup Charms". Check it out.

With a clip the name charm can be moved easily when it is time for a new cup. So now the boys have no question of who is using which cup. Love it and I love that the boys did their own. Pretty fun little activity. Here's to no more fighting over cups. Cheers!

Baby Fresh

Bath time is so great. I love that baby fresh smell after the bath. Riley loves bath time too. Just look at this smile.
Right out of the bath and he is ready to go.
Now Riley is all ready for Vili to watch him.

How do you watch General Conference?

Well, this past weekend was General Conference for those who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was a great uplifting conference. As I was listening to the talks I happened to look around at my family and wondered how others watched conference.
Do you like to move around while conference plays in the background?

Do you watch with a toy in hand ready to play?
Do you watch while snacking?
Do you prop yourself up as comfortably as possible?
Or, my favorite, do you close your eyes to be "better in tune with the spirit"? ;)
Just curious.

I guess in the end it doesn't matter how you watch, just that you watch and that you come away with something that touches you.

Let Me See

Brady and Skyler were looking at a magazine when Riley decided he wanted in on the action.
"Hey, let me see!"
Riley can be pretty determined sometimes.

Happy Birthday Chief

Micah recently celebrated his 9th Birthday. Unfortunately he was sick on his birthday. That didn't stop us from celebrating. I took him to McDonald's for lunch(his choice). And for dinner he wanted to go to the Equator. He was so excited but didn't eat very much. One thing good about being home sick on your birthday is he got to play with his gifts from his Grandparents all day!
Micah got to extend his birthday celebration a bit by enjoying breakfast in bed on Saturday when he was feeling better.
Happy 9th Birthday Micah!

Shall we dance?

It is funny to watch my kids sometimes. The other day I had just finished watching a movie when the credits were rolling. Now you know how there is music that goes along with the credits? Well, Brady and Skyler decided it was good enough to dance to.
It was so funny and they got us all up and dancing. Of course when the camera came out the dancing because more acrobatic.

Kids are so funny sometimes.
