Measina Club

This summer Micah and Alec have been playing sports.  Micah has been doing Volleyball and Basketball and Alec Basketball only.  It has been a great program offered by the Parks and Recreation and manned by the Measina Club.  They have started from scratch teaching basics and good sportsmanship.  It has been a great experience for both of them.

Here a couple pictures of their practices:

The coaches organized a fun day at Lion's Park and here are a few pictures from that:

Brady, Riley and Skyler had just as much fun playing around at the park while their brothers played their games.

Here is one of the games that Alec and Micah actually played on the same team.  They actually make a pretty good team.  Now if I could just convince them of that, it might spill over into their daily lives.

Now here they are on opposite teams.

The final day of the Measina Club Summer Sessions, the coaches organized a Championship Game day.  They started with Volleyball.  Here are a couple pics of Micah and his team.  Micah's division played three on three with the help of a coach.

Here is a short video clip of Micah serving the ball over.  He really puts his whole body into the game and everyone is excited he got a point out of it!

After the Championship Volleyball games it was time for Basketball.

Look at the smiles on these faces.
Following the games the coaches held an awards ceremony.  Micah's Volleyball team "The Sharks" won 2nd place in their division and they also won the "Team Spirit" award.  In Basketball, Micah and the other boy on his team "The Lions" were moved up a division so that put Alec and Micah in the same division.  So Alec's team "The Mountain Lions" won first place an Micah's team "The Lions" won second place.  Micah's team also won the "Team Spirit" award for having a good attitude playing kids bigger than they were.  Alec won the "Coaches Award" given to the player who did all that the coaches asked of them, didn't complain and was always smiling and pleasant.

I was so pleased with the Measina Club and the coaches.  They really worked to instill good sportsmanship and an overall good attitude along with how to play the game.  They were so organized and my boys had so much fun.  I hope they will be able to do it again soon.

Thanks Measina Club!
