It's that time again when summer ends and school begins. The four boys all headed off to school yesterday, August 14, 2013. They were all excited and anxious to meet their teachers and see their friends. Riley is the only one feeling a little left out being the only one home again. Best wishes for the new school year boys!!

Monkey Bread
Just monkeying around with the Peters.
Christine, Teri, Oli and Waqa came over one Sunday night to play games and I made Monkey Bread for the first time. Oh it was so delicious!!!!
Check out me and my little monkey.
The Race
August 3rd my friends talked me into doing a 10K race with them. Now keep in mind that I don't exercise regularly and I am so out of shape. The two or three weeks before though these same friends were getting me out. Yep, I am so not self motivated but will do it when my friends call. I told you have have great friends. Anyway, below is the route we had to run.
There were over 100 people there so right at the get go I got separated from my running partners Christine and Lana. I just kept going though. I ended up running with a kid most of the way. He liked to sprint then walk and I tried to keep my pace steady so we kept passing each other. We stuck together until that last lap around the track when he took off. That was a killer lap. I finished with my friends right behind me. ;)
After the 10 K Race:
Look at that I'm still breathing.....and smiling!!!
All of us made it!
Check this out! Each of us even placed in our age groups. I got 1st in mine. Alisha got 1st and Lana got 2nd with Lu getting first and Christine getting 2nd. We couldn't believe it and we were all pretty proud or ourselves. ;) Now if I could just keep this up. Ha!
Thanks to the ASNOC for putting this race on. Thanks to my friends for encouraging me to do it!

Hiking with Friends
We have done this hike a few times before but this time was different. This time we went with a bunch of friends and we went past the canons. We went with the Peters, Goodwins, Ho Chings and Vili. We were a little late getting started so we met up with the group at the first pit stop.... the canons.
Then we hiked up to the second canon. Here Jason is trying to convince Riley he can fit inside the canon.
We continued on from there. The trail takes you above the canon and along the mountain ridge to another bunker and on to the old cable car. We stopped around the bunker and turned around. All in all we hiked about 3 hours.
Like Riley's mode of hiking? Lucky. ;)
Good friends and good times.
Here is the whole group at the bunker. Sorry for the blurry picture.
Even on the mountain top work found me. ;)
There was a rope to help us on the steeper parts. The Parks & Rec guys were there doing some work on the trails and were a big help getting us up and down.
Here we are bring up the rear.
My boys love rocks. Even at a beach.
Smile Villy!
My friends: Christine, Ngaire and Lana! These three keep me motivated, active and sane!
Oliver and Alec chow down.
Riley is buried neck deep by girls. Literally. ;)
Then the boys do it too.
Brady sits in the sand chair he made himself.
Skyler asked for it when he asked Tessa and Arias to bury him. ;)
It was a great summer day to hike and swim with friends.

Happy 14th
Alec recently celebrated his 14ht Birthday!!! His day started out with the traditional breakfast in bed.
Then we had a pool party with our friends the Peters, Hemalotos, Ho Chings and Goodwins. Here are some pictures of the Birthday boy and the fun.
Make a wish Alec! Everyone enjoyed his Oreo Ding Dong cake. Yummy!
I love this picture. Can you see Alec? He had just been thrown in the pool by his friends.
Happy Birthday Alec! I hope you have another great year! WE LOVE YOU!!!
Farewell Grammy and Grandpa
July 13, 2013 my parents headed to the airport to go to Apia, Samoa and on to their final destination of Auckland, New Zealand. We were all sad to see them go but so excited for their new calling and adventures that await them. Here are some pictures at the airport seeing them off.
Good luck and best wishes Grammy and Grandpa! You are always in our prayers.
